Compare W, Z, diboson, top, Higgs-like and high-mass candidates. One collision starts a question; it cannot identify a process on its own.

ATLAS 4lep skim / 2e + 2μ

Four leptons near the Higgs discovery window.

Select an event from the comparative set, then inspect reconstructed objects one by one.

Directions follow the real event. Curvature, jet width, and spacing are stylized only enough to keep topology readable. Missing transverse energy here is about 43.0 GeV.

3D is a perspective sketch you can drag to rotate. Use Control or Command plus the wheel, the buttons, or pinch in full screen to zoom. Tracks lean along z using η, while φ sets the direction around the beam.

Why some marks are wide

なぜ広がって見えるか

Quarks and gluons rarely leave one clean line. They spray into many particles, so we draw a bundle instead.

クォークやグルーオンは一本の線になりにくい。たくさんの粒子の束なので、広がった印で表す。

Missing ET

見えない勢い

When the push does not balance

勢いがつり合わないとき

If the visible push does not cancel out, MET points toward something the detector did not catch directly. It is a clue, not a final answer.

見えている勢いだけではつり合わないとき、METは検出器が直接つかめなかった何かへの手がかり。断定ではなく、次に見るサイン。

This single 2e + 2μ candidate is not a claim on its own. Its value comes from being compared with other documented events before any broader mass-spectrum argument is made.
